Program Areas

AG Agriculture & Natural Resources

OSU Extension's Agriculture and Natural Resources educators help farmers, gardeners, landowners and businesses.

We help farmers:

  • Strengthen their businesses, adopt new technology, and improve efficiency while protecting the environment

We help landowners:

  • Manage woodlands and protect streams and watersheds

In addition, we train Master Gardeners who in turn extend research-based yard and garden information to Ohioans. We work with the green industries, from turf grass management to landscape and nursery companies.

4-H  4-H and Youth Development

4-H is a community of young people nationwide who learn about leadership, citizenship and life skills. Participants include:

  • Over 350 Paulding County youth and over 300,000 young people statewide, ages 5 to 19
  • 75 local and 32,000 statewide volunteers donating time, energies and talents to work with young people annually

4-H offers over 200 4-H projects to complete and showcase at the Paulding County Fair.  4-Hers may also be invited to take their project to compete at the Ohio State Fair.  Youth Development includes programs such as CarTeens, School Enrichment and Summer Day Camps.

 FCS  Family and Consumer Sciences

Family and Consumer Sciences professionals help build strong families. We offer programs and information in:

  • Parenting and Family life
  • Adult development and aging
  • Balancing life, jobs and families and health

We also offer information in nutrition and food safety and help people manage money and prepare for retirement.

CD Community Development

Community Development educators and specialists enhance communities by working with:

  • Business community
  • Current and emerging community leaders
  • Elected and appointed officials

We provide perspectives to residents and leaders regarding local development issues, increase the knowledge base for individual and community decisions, develop clientele skills necessary to help achieve their individual and community goals, and help create an inclusive decision-making environment.
